Many brands out there in the market claim to draw inspirations from vintage outdoor wear. However, the newly launched Japanese label, Highland Park, hones in at the lifestyle of youths at Yosemite in California during the 1970s. It is said that some of the youths, unlike working class people, had little money at the time and would just congregate in Sunny Side Camp Ground in summer time. This is the inspiration for their second collection, casual clothing worn at the popular campsite. Although this Spring/Summer 2013 collection is not huge, it shows a promising range for the newly established label. These items are currently available from THE COLLECTIVE SQUARE online shop in Tokyo.
