Ichiro Suzuki x Levi’s – Collaboration Denim – Version 4 | Detailed Look

To be followed by something more malignant, the usage of performance enhancement drugs that have dogged the sport’s best athletes. His success in the MLB as one of the early transplant from Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) made him an elder statesman among his peers and Japanese baseball fans. A reason why labels, like Levi’s Japan, find him to be the ideal confluence between cultures.

Now in its 4th rendition, the Levi’s x Ichiro Suzuki Collection Denim collaboration utilized a combination of concepts and materials. Based on the silhouette of the Levi’s 501, the selvedge denims were each hand-distressed then splatter with paint. Special yellow rivets etched with Ichiro’s jersey number of 51 dotted along the seams, along with a leather patch feature Hiragana word of Su (す), as in Ichiro’s family name. The most unique element of this most recent collaboration is the Bemberg lining on the inside. The pinstriped fabric prevents the denim from clinging to the wearer in the midst of a humid summer day.
