NSW Brasil Destroyer Jacket

Brasil take on The Netherlands in less than 3 hours, and in doing so take one step closer to yet another World Cup Title. Just like the team, Nike Sportswear bring together heritage and quality in the form of this exclusive Destroyer Jacket.

As an extension to the Black Pack collection, built exclusively for the Brasilian National Team Nike Sportswear introduces the NSW Brasil Destroyer jacket. The Destroyer jacket is Nike Sportswear’s take on the letterman jacket and when creating the Destroyer the challenge wasn’t to redesign a classic, but to improve some of the elements of what was already an iconic piece. The addition of a front centre zipper, along with the traditional snap buttons, seals the jacket to keep warmth in, key in the potentially harsh South African winter.

Nike Sphere paneling where the jacket hits the neck and lower back give more comfort, and the traditional taffeta lining is replaced with ripstop nylon to create a more luxurious feel. All these changes alongside the inclusion of innovative two-layer waterproof wool, ensuring rain stays on the outside.

Keep an eye out for this version as the Brasilians work their way through the competition in the coming days. Will a jacket have ever been more appropriately named than the Destroyer Jacket is as it rests on the back of Robinho, Luis Fabiano, Maicon and Dani Alves et al in South Africa? A sixth star on their shirts would certainly confirm it.
